It takes time for something to become a habit. Habits are things that are created when we continue to do over and over again.
If I smoke, this is a bad habit, because it is common knowledge that smoking is bad for your health and can lead to cancer. Now, this doesn't happen to everybody, but do I want to be the statistic that this does happen to?!
If I brush my teeth twice a day, every day, this is a good habit. Taking good care of my teeth cuts down on cavities and overall oral health.
If I want to get rid of a bad habit, I have to replace it with a good habit. I can replace all bad habits with good habits in every area of my life - one thing at a time, one day at a time.
A blog of writings from a Christian perspective. We believe in The Word of GOD as being the bread of life and the Truth. Please log on daily and enjoy... God Bless All!

Blessed to Still Be Living
It is amazing how many people are so vain about their age. Some would rather die than tell how old they are. Remember when we were kids, and someone would ask how old are you? We would reply whatever our age was, always trying to be older by saying something like 8 1/2 years old. Once we hit that magic mark - which I guess is 29 years, we dread that awful 30. Really! For real? Stop the madness.
Whatever happened to growing old gracefully? People are trying so hard to delay the inevitable. A lot of people are having plastic surgery done, and, unfortunately, some of these people are left looking fake. How is looking fake better than growing old gracefully and looking natural - which is like a real person?
Every day that we are still here, especially in these last and evil days, is a blessing in itself. The older we become we can stake a claim to having overcome somethings big and small; happy and sad; joyful and tragic, health and sickness, and so on, but we are still here. We grow older and wiser. I've had both, and I wouldn't trade wisdom for youth for nothing.
I will be 52 years old on January 18, God willing. After all the sinning I did back in the day, I should be dead and in my grave, but God said not so. I am blessed to still be here. I'm even more blessed to realize it, and I thank my God every day for allowing me to see another day that was not promised to me.
"Is this the way you repay the Lord, you foolish and senseless people? Isn't He your Father who created you? Has he not made you and established you?" (Deuteronomy 32:6/NLT)

Stop Child Abuse
Child Abuse is rampant. Nine times out of ten our children are abused and sexually abused by people they know (dad, granddad, mom, grandmom, uncles, aunts, brother, sister and cousins. We must stop the madness. If you know that a child is being abused, don't be part of the problem, be part of the solution. Report abuse.

An Eye Opener
Why do men think it is not masculine (manly) to cry or be seen crying when "Jesus Wept." (John 11:35/KJV)

Television (TV) Isn't All Bad
I was watching TV this morning and it was good. This is what I saw and heard that I had to share with you. I was watching the comedy show: Mad About You, and in this show an advertisement on the bus simply spelled out the words "WHO CARES".
We
Help
Others
We who help others is who cares.
I was watching a Christian program: Brothers of the Word, and this is what I heard:

I was watching a Christian program: Brothers of the Word, and this is what I heard:
- A set back is just a set-up for a come back!
- When the devil attacks your health, your material things (car, house, etc.), and your love ones, he doesn't care about these things. They mean nothing to him. He wants to steal your faith.
Boy, doesn't that put things in perspective.
HAVE A BLESSED DAY ON PURPOSE!
Praise God!
Everything isn't the way I want it to be. I don't have all the things that I want, but I have all the things that I need. I have a loving wife. I have a job. I have a home. I eat on a daily basis. Thank you Lord! I thank you for what I do have and won't complain about what I don't have.
Praise God!

Knowledge is Power
We, the human race, love to share and show what we know. We are always talking about fact verses fiction, right verses wrong and truth verses a lie, and which is which. We truly believe that when we share information that we are always right about what we say, but even the best of us get our facts wrong some times. Unfortunately, some of us think that if I like it, and I'm not bothering any body than it is right for me to do. Especially if it makes me happy. I heard the character Marie Barone of Everybody Loves Raymond exclaim: "If everybody just did what makes them happy what a terrible world this would be." Think about it. Well, let me spell it out for all to insure a clear understanding. If we all just did what made us happy we would selfishly focus on ourselves only, and neglect others. We say, I'm telling you the truth, but what is our truth based on?
The best way for us to be knowledgeable is to research for ourselves information that someone has shared with us. Pick up the dictionary and look up the definition of words we don't understand; check the spelling of words we are not sure of; look up more intellectually challenging words to replace easier words. And, most importantly, read all types of information: the newspaper; books - especially the Bible. We don't know what the truth is until we read the Bible. There is only one truth, and that is the Word of God. The Word of God will tell you how to conduct every area of your life the right way. Now, there are many different versions of writings and styles for the Bible, but they are all saying the same thing - the inspired Word of God. Some are complicated when expressing what God says, and some break down the Word of God to where even a little child can read and understand. So, in this vast span of the written Word has to be a perfect Bible for each of us. My first pastor started me out in the Amplified Bible (AB). Thank God for his insight, because I am sure that if I had to learn the Word starting out in the King James Version (KJV) it would have turned me off. So you see, not only is it important to find out information for ourselves, but it is equally important to be sure to find information and/or knowledge from the right source.
Speaking of knowledge, FYI, the Christian doctors say "fasting three days a month" will add five to seven years to your life (what is fasting, and why is it not dieting?). Get started being properly knowledgeable and do the research (find out) for yourself.
Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. ( 2 Timothy 2:15, KJV)
Study and be eager and do your utmost to present yourself to God approved (tested by trial), a workman who has no cause to be ashamed, correctly analyzing and accurately dividing [rightly handling and skillfully teaching] the Word of Truth. (2 Timothy 2:15, AB)
