Don't Say It, Display It!

We love to say: "I'm a Christian", but how often do we think about what that really means.  We are Christ's representatives on earth.  This means we are to be Christ-like.  Representing Him through true loving ways (agape love).  We are His children so we should always show unconditional love no matter what.

We know how to be cute and mannerable, sweet and polite, but we are missing God.  We're stylin' and profilin', but where is the love?

 We say out loud that we are one with Christ Jesus.  Actions speak louder than words!

Even when we present the Word of God we expose our limitations, prejudices, and reveal our true hearts.  We need to stay with the Word, and stay away from our own take on it.

Let's stop the superficial surface stuff and start doing the things that make a difference.

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. (II Chronicles 7:14/KJV)

Onward Christian Soldier!

The Bible admonishes us to be anxious for nothing.

We were bad, excuse my expression, behinds when we were of the world, so why are we claiming to be Christians, but acting like punks!

Worry does nothing but give us high blood pressure and stress us out.  How can we say we trust God if we are worrying.  Worry is not of God.  Worry is doubt.  Faith in God is believing, believing that no matter how big the problem (issue) God has it all under control.  There is nothing (no-thing) to hard for God.

We insult God, slap Jesus in the face, and grieve Holy Spirit when we worry.

We are Christian Soldiers.  To paraphrase scriptures:  We have to fight a good fight, we have to keep the faith, we have to finish the race.  Soldiers prepare for battle.  We have to prepare for battle by putting on the whole armor of God.  Reading the Word of God daily.  Be prayerful, watch and fast regularly.  We must be persistence and consistent in the things of God.  Most importantly, we must be disciples and witness to others so that souls will be won to Christ.  So onward Christian soldier!

Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything.  Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all he has done. (Philippians 4:6/NLT)

A Letter from the Devil !

I visited your Sunday School last Sunday and I was over-joyed to see that so many of you had not come, and some of those that did come were late.  That made me leap for joy.  It is always such a thrill to have parents help me to keep the young children from going to Christ, it gives me an extra chance to expose them to other worldly things before they come in contact with heavenly things.

I was also pleased to see many not attending worship services.  I always tremble when they attend the preaching service, because that is where souls are fed, and there is a possibility that someone will give their heart to the Lord and be saved.  Believe me, it is always helpful for me to have the members of the Sunday School neglect their responsibility, which gives me a chance to get in my Sunday punch.  I am so thrilled when some members of the choir take me with them to rehearsal which puts a damper on rehearsal.  Then when  Sunday comes I am happy when either they do not show up or half sing, making it difficult for the choir director, pianist, organist, and at the same time putting a chill over the congregation, causing them to sleep while the preacher is preaching, trying to win souls from me.

I even laugh with glee when I see many of you fail to pay your tithes and give cheerful offerings.  I like to see you make the preacher and the church board squirm, and worry about finances.  It takes away from the time they would be using to win souls from me.  Imagine, “Beat the Devil Sunday” the rest of this year.  Can you imagine Rev. Williams and the church want to win all the souls from me when I have been winning so long?

Here are some good reasons I’d like to share with you or remind you of, as to why I am writing this personal letter to beg you to stay away from Sunday School, and all Bible training and sharing classes the rest of the year: favorite T.V. show, football, baseball, company in town, have to cook Sunday dinner for relatives, wash the car, go fishing, extra work day, stayed out too late Saturday and overslept Sunday, unpopular on Sunday, horoscope says stay home, nothing new to wear, a run in your stockings, no one else in family is going, put it off until next Sunday for sure, stores are now more often open for Sunday shopping and a good sale, visit another church, and, oh well, there are a lot of other reasons, and whatever you use is good enough for me, because I am winning.

You know it is more comfortable to stay at home.  Besides, when you stay at home you fail to tithe and support God’s movement, and that makes my work even more easier.

Grace is undeserved favor.  Grace gives us what we don't deserve, and mercy spares us from what we do deserve.  As a popular gospel song says: "If it wasn't for His grace and His mercy I would fail.  Amen

Wait on the Lord!

"Things aren't going as I hoped."  "I'm not doing as well as I thought I would be.  " We wake up everyday with these thoughts, and sometimes it seems too much to bear.  But God!

God never gives us more than we can bear.  If we trust in Him, He will provide us with the strength and wisdom we need to pull through the tough times.  He will provide us with the peace to settle the storm that is troubling our minds.  As I have said before, this is not an easy thing to do when you think with your flesh.  The flesh aches and needs immediate relief, but the Spirit, and we are Spirit Beings, can wait on the Lord to give us the answers we need.


Wait patiently for the LORD.

You've Got to Give to Get

If you need a friend, show yourself friendly.

If you need money or other valuable items, give to those less fortunate.

If you need to be heard, try listening.

If you need help, ask for it.

If you need to be loved, try loving on others.

If you need God, and we do, He is listening.

If you need wisdom, or an understanding on how to do all of the above read the Bible.

New Job, New Thing!

I will be starting a new job in about a week or so, and the thought of it is exciting with new possibilities. However, leaving the old job feels strange to me. I am comfortable on the job since I have been there for quite some time, and the thought of the unfamiliar brings about feelings of anxiety and reservation.

We all go through this several times in our lives; the fact that change occurs, and we want to hold on to the familiar, what we are used to. Change is inevitable, and we need to embrace it, because who knows what great plan God has in store for our lives. We do know God has something great for each of us. We just have to believe and know it.

I thank God for this new job; I thank God for this blessing; I thank God for just being God! I thank God for doing a new thing in my life!

                 See, I am doing a new thing. Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
