A NEW YEAR IS COMING! (What About You?)

I pray to God that we all make it into the new year since no time is promised to us.  I reflect on one New Year's Eve time that reminds me of how precious time is, and how none of it is promised to us.  My uncle, by marriage, called relatives near and far to wish them a happy New Year.  Sometime between New Year's Eve and the new year time ran out for him, and he passed on from this place to another.

A New Year is surely coming, but will a new you come with it?  Sinners and saints can all get in on this.  We can all strive to be better, do better, have better, and want better for not just ourselves, but for the world at- large.  Let us come up to another level of better living from the inside - out.  If you are a sinner, you can truly be a better you by accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior over your life.  If you are a Christian, you can be a better you by praying more, fasting more, reading the Bible more.  The more we read the Bible the better we get to know God.

God is a good God, and I'm glad about it.  How about you?  He is the God of another chance.  So come on everybody, let's use this new year, and next chance to strive to get it right in all areas of our lives!

God Knows Our Needs !

Jesus was born in Bethlehem because God knew our need.  He knew that although He created us in His image, and put us in a perfect situation, in a perfect place, we would become imperfect.  He, Who never sinned, died for our sins so that (if we so choose) we could recieve salvation and be saved from sin.  But Jesus didn't just die for our salvation, that is just the being.  He also died for us so we could have a rich and full life.  God knew, and knows that we needed and will need Jesus from beginning to end in order to live the life He has planned for us.

The lord says, "I will rescue those who love me.  I will protect those who trust in my name.  When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble.  I will rescue and honor them.  I will reward them with a long life and give them my salvation."  Psalm 91:14-16 (NLT)
