New Job, New Thing!

I will be starting a new job in about a week or so, and the thought of it is exciting with new possibilities. However, leaving the old job feels strange to me. I am comfortable on the job since I have been there for quite some time, and the thought of the unfamiliar brings about feelings of anxiety and reservation.

We all go through this several times in our lives; the fact that change occurs, and we want to hold on to the familiar, what we are used to. Change is inevitable, and we need to embrace it, because who knows what great plan God has in store for our lives. We do know God has something great for each of us. We just have to believe and know it.

I thank God for this new job; I thank God for this blessing; I thank God for just being God! I thank God for doing a new thing in my life!

See, I am doing a new thing. Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.  (Isiah 43:19)

Ash Wednsday!

Many celebrated Fat Tuesday or Mardi Gras all over the world partying; indulging in exotic drinks, rich food and crazy fun. But what's really important is the next day, Ash Wednsday, the first day of Lent. Lent is the 40 days before Easter ( not including Sundays), which is a time of spiritual reflection on what Jesus prepared for and did for us. Fasting, repenting, mourning and praying are practiced more during this time period than at other times of the year.

Let us prepare over the next 40 days for Jesus!

                                                       He Deserves It!

Take It to the Lord in Prayer

Lord, grant me the serenity to change the things that I can; to accept the things that I can't, and the wisdom to know the difference.  Amen

What do I Do?

I'm struggling to find a way to pay bills right now. There's more money going out than is coming in. I know I'm not alone in this situation, not in these times. Millions of people are in this same struggle as me. Sometimes it gets too hard to bear. We can't do this on our own. No payday loan or loan from a friend is going to carry us through; the cycle just keeps going and going! It's hard to catch up.

1st, we must turn our burden over to Jesus, for he died for our struggles.
2nd, he will give give us the peace that surpasses all understanding.
3rd, with this peace and an open mind, the Holy Spirit can guide us through our troubles.

No, this isn't easy to do. We say "I need help now!" Please, just hang in there and trust Him.

Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall. ( Psalms 55:22)

Love is the Answer

Lord, I pray, that we will have loving hearts every day.

HEART FELT LOVE
When you look me in my eyes,
     and say, "I love you",
When you give me a hug --
              is it real?
When you send me a great big present,
is this the way you really feel?
It's good to open up your heart once in a lifetime
And to know that someone does love you
with heart felt love like mine.

The Price of Sin!

How sad is the death of Whitney Houston?  Whitney was unparalleled in the 1980's scoring with 7 straight # 1 hits. Who can forget her rendition of The Star Spangled Banner in Super Bowl XXV (1991), as the jets blazed across the stadium sky.  She was truly a beautiful superstar with  God given talents, but then sin stepped in and became a lifestyle; her much publicized troubles became media fodder and something she and her husband Bobby Brown seemed to relish.  I think of his song "My Prerogative": "I can do what I want to do."  Well, we all can see what that got her!

*Sin will take you further than you want to go and cost you more than you want to pay!

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23
