I'm Glad I Know Jesus for Myself

When chaos comes, I'm glad I know that Jesus can and will bring order.

When my mind is not working right, I'm glad to know that Jesus is a mind regulator.

When all hope seems to be lost, I'm glad to know that my hope is built on nothing less than Jesus' blood and righteousness.

When I am sick, I'm glad to know that Jesus is a healer.

When I am lost, I'm glad to know that Jesus will find me, and help me find myself and my way.

When I am in a spiritual or natural fight, I'm glad to know that all I have to do is get out of the way and let Jesus fight my battles for me.

When I have no insurance, I'm glad to know that I have Jesus' blessed assurance.

When my money is funny, and my change is strange, and my credit won't get it, I'm glad to know that Jesus is priceless.  That He paid the cost that counts the most.  That He will make a way out of no way.  That He will make the impossible possible.

I'm talking about JESUS, the name that is above all names.  Hallelujah! Thank You, Jesus!!

Charity is an Act of Love!

Charity is an act of love, which allows us to do something that is the total opposite of our basic and selfish natures. We did not progress or get to where we are in life without the assistance of others. At very young ages, we display selfish tendencies and attitudes. As children, we show a "that's mine mentality " when it comes to objects such as balls, toys, and candy. Parents and teachers are constantly trying to instruct us in the principle of sharing; however, we struggle with this and may even have tantrums, if someone takes or tries to take something from us. Again, we did not get here on our own. Parents, siblings, teachers and others have had an impact on the lives that we now live. The goals we have been able to reach have more authors than just us alone. Family members, friends and coaches have all imparted something into the make up of our lives. Once we come to this realization and allow our egos to deflate, we then have the opportunity to have our hearts softened and think about others, who are in need. We should challenge ourselves at every opportunity, for it is right to care about others and to do whatever we can for one another. Looking back on the roads that we've traveled throughout our lives should bring to our memories many, many people that were a part of the successes and failures we have experienced. Let's be thankful about these memories and be willing to do the same for others.

It's Not About Me, It's All About God

Dear God, I pray that I will do what pleases you, all the time.

Let The Holy Spirit Come In!

But in fact, it is best for you that I go away, because if I don't, the Advocate won't come. If I do go away, then I will send Him to you. (John 16:7 NLT)

Christ's departure was necessary for the Comforter's coming.  Sending the Spirit was to be the fruit of Christ's death.  His bodily presence could only be in one place at a time, but His Spirit could be and is everywhere, in all places, at all times.  Comforting, helping, sustaining us is the Spirit's work; He can do it effectually, and none but He.

God is the Creator; Jesus is the Savior; Holy Spirit is the Counselor.

Let the Holy Spirit come into your life and do His Job!

Don't Say It, Display It!

We love to say: "I'm a Christian", but how often do we think about what that really means.  We are Christ's representatives on earth.  This means we are to be Christ-like.  Representing Him through true loving ways (agape love).  We are His children so we should always show unconditional love no matter what.

We know how to be cute and mannerable, sweet and polite, but we are missing God.  We're stylin' and profilin', but where is the love?

 We say out loud that we are one with Christ Jesus.  Actions speak louder than words!

Even when we present the Word of God we expose our limitations, prejudices, and reveal our true hearts.  We need to stay with the Word, and stay away from our own take on it.

Let's stop the superficial surface stuff and start doing the things that make a difference.

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. (II Chronicles 7:14/KJV)

Onward Christian Soldier!

The Bible admonishes us to be anxious for nothing.

We were bad, excuse my expression, behinds when we were of the world, so why are we claiming to be Christians, but acting like punks!

Worry does nothing but give us high blood pressure and stress us out.  How can we say we trust God if we are worrying.  Worry is not of God.  Worry is doubt.  Faith in God is believing, believing that no matter how big the problem (issue) God has it all under control.  There is nothing (no-thing) to hard for God.

We insult God, slap Jesus in the face, and grieve Holy Spirit when we worry.

We are Christian Soldiers.  To paraphrase scriptures:  We have to fight a good fight, we have to keep the faith, we have to finish the race.  Soldiers prepare for battle.  We have to prepare for battle by putting on the whole armor of God.  Reading the Word of God daily.  Be prayerful, watch and fast regularly.  We must be persistence and consistent in the things of God.  Most importantly, we must be disciples and witness to others so that souls will be won to Christ.  So onward Christian soldier!

Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything.  Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all he has done. (Philippians 4:6/NLT)

A Letter from the Devil !

I visited your Sunday School last Sunday and I was over-joyed to see that so many of you had not come, and some of those that did come were late.  That made me leap for joy.  It is always such a thrill to have parents help me to keep the young children from going to Christ, it gives me an extra chance to expose them to other worldly things before they come in contact with heavenly things.

I was also pleased to see many not attending worship services.  I always tremble when they attend the preaching service, because that is where souls are fed, and there is a possibility that someone will give their heart to the Lord and be saved.  Believe me, it is always helpful for me to have the members of the Sunday School neglect their responsibility, which gives me a chance to get in my Sunday punch.  I am so thrilled when some members of the choir take me with them to rehearsal which puts a damper on rehearsal.  Then when  Sunday comes I am happy when either they do not show up or half sing, making it difficult for the choir director, pianist, organist, and at the same time putting a chill over the congregation, causing them to sleep while the preacher is preaching, trying to win souls from me.

I even laugh with glee when I see many of you fail to pay your tithes and give cheerful offerings.  I like to see you make the preacher and the church board squirm, and worry about finances.  It takes away from the time they would be using to win souls from me.  Imagine, “Beat the Devil Sunday” the rest of this year.  Can you imagine Rev. Williams and the church want to win all the souls from me when I have been winning so long?

Here are some good reasons I’d like to share with you or remind you of, as to why I am writing this personal letter to beg you to stay away from Sunday School, and all Bible training and sharing classes the rest of the year: favorite T.V. show, football, baseball, company in town, have to cook Sunday dinner for relatives, wash the car, go fishing, extra work day, stayed out too late Saturday and overslept Sunday, unpopular on Sunday, horoscope says stay home, nothing new to wear, a run in your stockings, no one else in family is going, put it off until next Sunday for sure, stores are now more often open for Sunday shopping and a good sale, visit another church, and, oh well, there are a lot of other reasons, and whatever you use is good enough for me, because I am winning.

You know it is more comfortable to stay at home.  Besides, when you stay at home you fail to tithe and support God’s movement, and that makes my work even more easier.
